The Weekly Seven

Hello Sunday! Here are my favourites this week. School's out and I am sharing my list of red flags...you won't want to miss this if you are building or renovating!

1.   Satnin Drape Fabric

Created in collaboration with Catherine Martin, Satnin is a wide width linen drapery. The natural luminosity of the linen fibre and this optimistic colour palette create a vibrant and tropical moment for your windows. This fabric has a timeless elegance with the combination of a satin weave and our contemporary love of linen - perfect for statement curtains. Satnin was Elvis’s nickname for his beloved Mother, Gladys Presley!

2. Strawberry Field Wallpaper

Hand-painted by amazingly talented designers, the Strawberry Field wallpaper takes inspiration from Swedish folkloric themes to create a design that’s both cute and full of character. With its intricate pattern of delicately drawn violets and carefully sketched wild strawberries, it will add a touch of retro style and sweetness to any space. With a pale and understated colour palette, this lighter version of Strawberry Field won't steal all the attention in the room! We have this beautiful wallpaper book available for viewing in our showroom!

 3. Luxurious Headboards

A beautiful headboard is the epitome of luxury and style. With a third of our lives spent in bed it's one piece of furniture you don't want to forget! Upholstered in an opulent copper velvet, this luxurious Vernara headboard is one of Stylist Emma's favourites.

It would make a gorgeous addition to any bedroom setting with its elegant, vertical quilting detail and generous height.

We can also help you customise the perfect headboard to meet any of your interior design needs with our talented local manufacturers.

 4. Painterly Blinds

Surround yourself with a tropical paradise all year round with the iconic La Palma by Catherine Martin by Mokum. The delicate layers of this hand painted design feature banana and fan palms as a digital print on a durable block-out linen look blind base.

The possibilities are endless with digital printed block-outs behind a soft sheer! This stunning combination gives you the best of both worlds - block out and the softness and light filtering qualities of a sheer curtain!

 5. Red Flags

Picking your dream team is one of the most important tasks you have when building or renovating. Relationships are key as you will likely be working with these contractors for a number of months, if not years for a bigger build project! Red flags to watch out for would be a lack of good communication when starting the investigation phase of your project. The more transparent and upfront your team can be the smoother and more efficient the whole process will likely be. We share more red flags on the blog so check it out with your next cuppa!

 6. Tapware Choices

Tapware trends are always evolving within design and with so many colour variations from black chrome to brushed copper, and aged iron gunmetal you can start to feel overwhelmed by choice. Gone are the days when you needed to select one finish for the whole interior. Selecting different colours for each zone within a home is an option where different finishes compliment your interior colours - and different finishes will also impact your budget! We can assist every step of the way and help maximise your budget and find the perfect tapware which compliments your interior style.

 7. School's Out!

School's out for Winter break and although we love to spend time with our little ones this can be a huge juggle for those trying to balance career and family. My best tips for getting through the holidays is have the house full of good snacks as they always seem to be hungry, (extra coffee for me) and I just accept that sometimes device time is a working parent's friend! We also plan a few holiday adventures together, some early movie nights with the younger kids, and we try to get lots of fresh air early in the day so we can have some downtime after lunch. I always like to throw in a device-free day or two so they get bored and use their imaginations in ways they didn't expect. What are your school holiday survival tips?
