Weekly Edit with Katy
The Weekly Edit
I know I've been quieter than usual in your inbox, and I've missed this weekly ritual of connecting with you. The truth is, life has been beautifully full—navigating some health challenges, managing the everyday chaos of family, and honestly, we've been so wonderfully busy with client projects that marketing took a backseat. It's that kind of busy where you look up and realize weeks have passed, and you haven't shared any of the gorgeous work happening behind the scenes.
But I've missed this. Missed chatting with you, sharing design insights, and being part of your home journey. There's something special about this community we've built, and I'm excited to step back into this rhythm—especially as spring arrives and everything feels fresh and full of possibility.
So here we are. Back, ready for spring, and with so much to share.
1. What's New
We've made a significant shift in how we're working, and it's one I'm genuinely excited about. It's just me and Lynda now—a smaller team, yes, but one that's allowed us to return to what we love most: the craft, the details, the deeply personal work of creating spaces that feel like home. This new structure means we can be more selective, more thoughtful, and more present with every project. We're focusing on custom curtains (which are absolutely having a moment—our workroom is busier than ever!), styling consultations that honor both your vision and your existing pieces, and the kind of bespoke work that requires time, attention, and care.
There's something incredibly freeing about this season. We're not trying to be everything to everyone anymore. We're simply doing what we do best, with the people who value beautiful, considered design. If you've been thinking about a spring refresh—new window treatments, a styling session, or finally tackling that room that's been waiting—I'd love to chat. We have the time and energy to give your project the care it deserves.
2. All About Curtains
Can we talk about curtains for a moment? Because they are absolutely having a moment right now, and our workroom has never been busier with custom window treatment projects. There's something so satisfying about creating bespoke curtains—the way the right fabric transforms a room, the weight and drape of a beautifully lined curtain, the way they frame a view and make a space feel finished and intentional.
This week, I'm diving deep into everything curtains. We'll talk about linings (and trust me, there are more options than you might think—each one serves a different purpose), choosing the right fabrics for your lifestyle, and how to protect your investment when life gets messy (because let's be honest, kids, pets, and the occasional glass of red wine are all part of real life).
I'll be sharing insights throughout the week on social media, but if you have specific questions or you're in the middle of a window treatment decision right now, just hit reply to this email. I love hearing from you, and I'm always happy to talk through your project—even if it's just to help you think through your options.
3. Hanmer Fete
I have some exciting news to share! We'll have a stall at the Hanmer Springs Village Fete, and I'm absolutely thrilled about it. We're bringing a gorgeous collection of handcrafted cushions—every single one made right here in our workroom by Lynda, using the most beautiful designer velvets, striking patterns, and luxe textures we've collected over the years.
Here's the thing: these aren't your average cushions. Each one is truly one-of-a-kind, crafted from premium fabrics we've sourced for showroom displays and special projects. They're the kind of pieces that add instant luxury to a sofa, elevate a bedroom, or make the perfect gift for someone who appreciates beautiful things (or, let's be honest, a lovely treat for yourself).
The Hanmer Fete is one of my favorite events—it's the perfect place to find unique, handcrafted gifts for Christmas and discover beautiful things for your home while supporting local makers and small businesses. If you haven't grabbed your tickets yet, now's the time! I can't wait to see you there and show you what we've been creating. https://www.hanmerspringsfete.co.nz/

Loving for 2025
Watching the cushions for Hanmer Fete come together in the workroom - it is so exciting see our ‘stash’ come to life. Lynda's craftsmanship never ceases to amaze me!
Design Tip
If you're unsure about a bold pattern, try it in cushions first. You get the impact without the commitment, and you can always swap them out.
Excited About...
Spring planting in the garden. There's something so grounding about getting your hands in the soil and planning what's to come. A sustained effort in the berry cage this weekend means yummy strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and gooseberries in a couple of months. Because I put all the effort in I’m thinking that I am the one that deserves all the berries...?!!
