The Weekly Edit

There's something both exhilarating and overwhelming about those periods when work becomes beautifully chaotic - when wonderful new projects arrive faster than you can capture them for social media. The last few weeks have been exactly that kind of whirlwind, filled with major home renovations, styling projects that make my heart so happy as the final touches start to take shape, bespoke curtain commissions, and our own exciting showroom transformation.

It's the kind of busy that reminds you why you fell in love with this work in the first place - when every project feels meaningful and every client relationship deepens into something special. I promise to do better at bringing you along on these journeys because honestly, the projects we're working on right now are some of the most interesting and varied we've ever taken on. From marble selections that are making me swoon to wallpaper reveals that will surprise you, there's so much beauty to share.

1. Showroom Transformation

We are making some exciting changes at home (as in our work home!). Our showroom transition is well underway, and I'm practically vibrating with excitement as we select brand new wallpaper samples hot off the press for a completely fresh vibe. The space is being reimagined to reflect this new chapter of Feather & Oak - more curated, more intimate, more inspiring than ever before.

We're creating something that truly represents our focused approach to beautiful, bespoke work, and the transformation is going to surprise you in the best possible way. At the moment we are still in the ‘worse before it get’s better’ stage!! But the final goal is in sight and getting exciting! And here's a little sneak peek - we're going to have a new way for you to find us! Can't wait to reveal everything in just a few weeks.

2. Marble Magic

I've been specifying some absolutely stunning marble dining, coffee and side tables lately, and they're bringing such a different flavor to the spaces we're creating. The range of colors and patterns available now goes far beyond traditional grey - think warm Carrara with honey veining, rich browns, and creamy whites that add such depth and character. And if the real thing stretches your budget, some of the faux painted versions are so realistic they'll fool even the most discerning eye.

What I love most about working with marble is how it instantly elevates a space - there's something about that natural veining that adds movement and interest even when everything else is kept simple. The key is choosing pieces that complement your existing palette rather than competing with it, creating those beautiful layered moments that make a room feel both sophisticated and lived-in.

 3. Spring's Promise

Today marks the last day of winter, and tomorrow we officially welcome spring! There's something magical about these early spring weeks - the promise of warmer days, longer evenings stretching ahead, the very first brave blossoms appearing, and golden daffodils pushing through. This morning's dog walk was accompanied by the sweet echo of newborn lambs from surrounding farms, and it feels like the perfect metaphor for all the new beginnings happening in our work and our spaces.

Speaking of new beginnings, once we finish our showroom transformation, I'm planning to tackle my own interior renovation at home - new wallpaper, fresh paint, and all those spring refresh projects that have been calling my name. There's something so satisfying about practicing what you preach, and I can't wait to share that journey with you too. After all, the best design advice comes from actually living through the process yourself!

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2025

Setting up my home office now that I'll be splitting time between home and the showroom - bringing in layers of warm neutrals, touches of brass, and all my favorite pieces is creating a space I genuinely can't wait to work from. With wallpaper, new curtains, and a newly upholstered chair still to arrive, the anticipation is building and I'm so excited to share the finished transformation with you.

Design Tip

Layer your textures before you layer your colours - starting with different fabric weights and surface finishes creates depth that makes any color palette feel more sophisticated and intentional.

Excited About...

Making some important health changes and starting to work with a strength nutritionist this week - it's probably more 'excited about (nervous about)' than just excited! I'll be sharing that journey on my personal page if you're keen to follow along (details to come).
