The Weekly Edit

There's something profound that happens when we choose evolution over endings. After eight weeks of quiet transformation, I've been reflecting on how the most beautiful changes often begin not with grand announcements, but with gentle shifts in intention.

This week's Edit marks our return with a story of intentional evolution - how stepping back allowed us to step forward into something more aligned, more focused, more authentically us. As we edge closer to spring, there's never been a better time to embrace new beginnings and the art of being selective.

Pour yourself something warm, settle into your favorite corner, and join me as we share what this new chapter holds - because the best transformations, like the changing seasons, are always worth the wait.

P.S. If you've been feeling called to refresh and renew your own spaces lately, trust that instinct. Spring energy is stirring, and it's beautiful.

1. Intentional Evolution

There's something deeply instinctive about recognizing when it's time to evolve - the way we naturally gravitate toward what serves us better, the pull toward creating something more aligned with who we're becoming.

This week, I've been thinking about why some changes feel like loss while others feel like liberation. It's not just about what we're leaving behind - it's about intention. Our hearts are hardwired to seek alignment between our values and our actions, a need that becomes even stronger as we grow into who we're meant to be.

The magic happens when you understand this connection. Choosing quality over quantity, focusing on what makes your heart sing, creating space for what truly matters - suddenly your work doesn't just look different, it feels different. It's this understanding of intentional evolution that transforms a business into a true reflection of your values.

2. The Update

While Em has embarked on an exciting new city adventure and Kayla is exploring the world with her husband for the next couple of years, the heart of what makes Feather & Oak special continues to beat strong. Lynda remains in our workroom, her skilled hands creating the most exquisite bespoke window furnishings - every pleat, every detail crafted with the artistry that sets our work apart.

I'm deep in the kind of styling projects that I love - currently transforming some incredible properties through carefully chosen cushions, rugs, lamps, side tables, and wallpaper. This is where my passion lives, in the details that transform spaces into sanctuaries.

We're also in the midst of our own transformation - reimagining our showroom and workroom into something that truly reflects this new chapter. The magic is happening behind the scenes, and we can't wait to share what we're creating!

 3. Excitement Ahead

Right now, we're focused on what we do most beautifully - creating bespoke window furnishings where Lynda's artistry shines in every custom detail, and styling projects that layer textures, colors, and carefully curated pieces into spaces that truly reflect who you are. We're being more selective about the projects we take on because we want to pour our hearts into work that makes a real difference.

And here's what has us most excited - our showroom and workroom are getting a complete transformation! Like all good renovations, it's going to take a couple of months to get everything just right, but come late September we'll be welcoming you into our refreshed space. We can't wait to show you what we're creating - it's going to be something really special.

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2025

The first daffodils appearing in our garden and the intoxicating scent of jasmine drifting through open windows - there's something about spring's natural fragrance that makes me want to throw open every door and start the ritual of spring cleaning with fresh energy.

Design Tip

Edit your surfaces ruthlessly - spring cleaning isn't just about deep cleaning, it's about clearing visual clutter so your beautiful pieces can actually breathe and be noticed.

Excited About...

Heading to Queenstown to measure for a project I've been working on for the last two years - there's something magical about finally being able to step into the space and start turning this build into the beautiful holiday home it's meant to become. The final details are always my favorite part!
