The Weekly Edit

This week’s been about the little things that quietly change everything. Better sleep. A gentle autumn refresh at home. And winding down in a way that actually feels restorative (not just… more scrolling).

It’s nothing dramatic, but I’ve noticed how quickly these small shifts add up. When you sleep well, you think more clearly. When your home feels calmer, you breathe a little easier. And when your evenings have a slower rhythm, the whole week feels more grounded.

In today’s Weekly Edit I’m sharing what I’m trying, what I’m loving, and a few simple ideas you can borrow—whether you’re craving a reset, a bit more cosiness, or just that “ahh, this feels better” feeling at home.

And if you’re new here—or you’ve been here a long time—welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

1. Sleep On My Mind

Sleep has been on my mind lately. Not in a vague, "I should probably sleep more" way, but in a real, tangible way that's changed how I function entirely.

I've always been a bit hard on myself—the kind of person who'd keep going on three hours or six hours of sleep without thinking twice. (Four children will do that to you.) But someone recently helped me see that 7–8 hours isn't a luxury; it's actually how my body and mind are designed to work best. And honestly? The difference is remarkable. I'm clearer, calmer, more creative. Everything feels easier.

So I've started treating sleep like the design project it is. And that includes the things that actually support good sleep—like bedding that works with your body, not against it.

I recently switched to a wool duvet inner, and I'm genuinely a fan. They're made right here in New Zealand—filled with 350gsm pure wool from South Island farms, encased in premium Japara cotton. What I love is how they actually work: light and breathable, but warm and cosy on cooler nights. The wool is lightly needle-punched, so there's no bunching or lumping—just an even, consistent comfort. They're made to last, which means you're investing in better sleep for years to come.

If you're curious about them, get in touch. I genuinely recommend them.

2. Autumn Refresh

While spring gets all the credit for spring-cleaning, I find autumn is actually the perfect time for a deep refresh. It’s when you naturally start thinking about cosiness and comfort—which makes it an ideal moment to be a little more intentional about your spaces.

What’s working? What’s tired? What do you actually reach for and use? This is your moment to edit a little more ruthlessly and invest in pieces that genuinely serve you—whether that’s a new throw in a fabric that makes you want to curl up, or swapping out cushions for textures that feel right for this season.

And here’s what I love about an autumn refresh: it’s not about following trends or doing what magazines say you should. It’s about tuning in to what you need right now—warmth, comfort, beauty, intention.

If you’re feeling that autumn “reset” urge too, I’d love to hear what you’re refreshing at home this season.

 3. The Art Of Putting It Down

The pull to slow down is real right now. I've noticed how easy it is to pick up my phone with the intention of finding design inspiration, and then—without quite realising how—an hour has dissolved into the algorithm's rabbit hole. A colour palette becomes a fashion feed becomes something entirely unrelated, and suddenly the evening's gone.

So I'm being intentional about how I wind down. Phone in another room. Paper books alongside my Kindle. A proper face-care routine—something that feels productive for my body rather than another form of scrolling. And in the mornings, before I even think about checking anything, I'm getting outside for a walk, getting ready for the day, being present. It's a small shift, but it changes everything about how the day feels.

There's something about autumn that invites this kind of reset anyway.

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving This Week...

Loving the shift into autumn textures. Wool, linen, velvet that feels substantial and warm. The kind of fabrics that make you want to curl up and stay awhile.

Design Tip

Mixing old and new is where the magic happens. A room filled entirely with new pieces can feel showroom-y—polished but impersonal. Layer in something with history, and suddenly the room has story. It feels grounded. Authentic. Lived-in.

Excited About...

Excited about our first site visit to a new showhome next week now the bones are up. That moment when you can finally see the space come to life—it never gets old.
