The Weekly Seven

Hello Sunday, and December already! Here are some of my favourite pieces this week and some beautiful home gifts!

1.  Patch Denim Wallpaper

How fabulous is this?! Three realistic colours and a design that combines several pieces of jeans to create a fascinating and on-trend wall. The wall coverings combine three colours of jeans: a raw denim, in a deep almost navy colour, a bleached jean like a sky-blue and a black jean, with shades from grey to black. The print uses the slanted yarn of the original denim cloth, to create a rhythmic look. The result is in keeping with the current trend for upcycling, which consists of reusing dormant stock or old collections to create new items.

If you are stuck for a gift idea these stunning original art pieces by Simon Lewis Wards are unique and playful for adding a touch of fun to any home. Based in Auckland Simon Lewis Wards is a sculptor who works predominantly in ceramics and cast glass and is best known for his playful interpretations of classic New Zealand candy. Who wouldn't love a piece of iconic glass candy in their home?

 7. Celebration!

We had a special family event last week celebrating my mother and father-in-law’s 50th wedding anniversary! Such a special occasion. We went for a boat trip and lunch on the River Queen and it was lovely to see a different perspective of the Cam River on our doorstep.
