The Weekly Seven

Hello!!  Here are some of my favourite things this week as we say hello to the first week of 2023.

1.  Soie Changeante Wallpaper

The day silk turned to its wild side, colour chose to be a part of that story.  Together they invented a trick, full of freedom and untamed beauty.  As the paint seems to stream through the weave, in overlapping transparent layers, thoughts of our wild seas or strange graffiti appear.  This wallpaper collection relies on a silk effect embossing and a silk painting spirit to offer geometric, striped or patterned designs.  One plain design, two patterns and two panoramas.  New love for your walls anyone??

2. Barbate Fabric

Barbate is rustic and seafaring.  It has the handcrafted simplicity of the humble weavings of a seafaring village.  This linen resembles sackcloth, decorated with vertical stripes in relief, in jacquard and stitched with contrasting wool threads.  Everything about Barbate looks to the past as a source of inspiration.  This is such a pretty fabric and would make beautiful curtains where natural fabrics are the true hero.

 3. Phillip Dining Table

This timeless traditional Dining Table elicits the look of cottages built in the early 1900’s, situated across the vast prairies of North America. Rustically refined these tables are very characteristic and create the feeling of something heritage. Crafted from original old recycled elm timber obtained from old cottage doors, these tables are strong and with the ability to lengthen out from 2m to 3m are sure to house a crowd. See how we styled it in our window this week!

 4. Oslo Linen Dining Chair

The beautiful Oslo dining chair is upholstered in linen fabric with a blue stripe and simple oak legs. It's a classic design that never goes out of style.  Plus, the padded back and seat ensure continual comfort.  Pair with the dining table above to complete your new dining look!

 5. Summer 2023

I have been fortunate to be holidaying in our family's favourite summertime destination - Kaikoura.  With the kids busy on or in the water there has been lots of opportunity to decompress from the year and look to the year ahead.  We have dined on fresh fish, hung out with cousins and friends and are lucky enough to have another week to go!

I hope wherever you are, you have managed some down time and the chance to stop and breathe after another full-on year!!

 6. Dame Vivienne Westwood

We would like to acknowledge the life of the inspiring late Vivienne Westwood and thank her for her incredible contribution to the design and fashion world.  A true source of inspiration for her bold and iconic sense of style and her love for the planet.  We are saddened by her loss, yet we will continue to be inspired by her progressive style and wisdom.  What an amazing woman!

 7. Good to go - 2023!

As the team comes back from summer holidays over the next week or so we are all refreshed and ready to go for another stellar year!  If you have window furnishing, styling or interior design projects - we are your dream team!!  Chat to us about your project, ideas, or desires - we would love to help craft your space.

Salute to a wonderful 2023!!
