The Weekly Seven with Katy

Aug 28, 2021

Hello Sunday. It's time to enjoy all the beautiful things from the week that was. Even though we are still in lockdown, It's a great time to pause, reflect and tend to our homes & hearts.

Grab a cuppa, a cosy blanket and take a peep at what I am loving this week.

 1. Bengal Tiger

This week I am soaking my self in copious amounts of GLAM vibes!

On the fabric front-line I'm looking no further than my favourite classic tiger skin - it's is woven in Europe in a contemporary velvet jacquard construction.

 2. Wallpaper Crush

Take a trip to the glamazon.

Create your own urban jungle oasis with this mystical print made from natural materials and inspired inspired by the legend of the Isle of Avalon, the mythical place shrouded in mist where everything grows in abundance. I think it's just so fitting and fun considering the stressful, locked-down times we are encountering. Dress up your walls like a work of art and make home your paradise.

 3. The Tradie

Our cheif entertainment officer and mixologist Kayla has crafted the perfect drink for Dad this Fathers' Day - with a hard worker in mind, it's the perfect potion to unwind with after a long day!

(Warning - it'll put hairs on the back of your neck, but the good kind)

 4. Finding Your Style

Finding your style can be overwhelming, where do you begin? Let me reassure you, if you have personality - you have style! This week on the blog I had so much fun unpacking the Modern Glam style suitcase - it's filled with simple, polished surfaces, elaborate details, luxe fabrics, shiny metallics, dramatic lighting and feminine curves.

Take a peek and explore your inner glamour queen and see how you can incorporate it into the home.

 5. Into The Looking Glass

These timeless & original magnifying glasses have landed just in time for Fathers' Day - the perfect accessory to Dad's home office or desk. Made from natural materials and contrasting earthy tones these magnifying glasses are not only functional - but also add modern style wherever they reside.

 6. Green Thumbs

The sun here in Canterbury has been kissing our skin and I can smell spring around the corner. It's an optimal time to refresh, rearrange, repot and style your indoor plants. Not only do they look beautiful, indoor plants bring along a backpack of blessings - from reducing stress & anxiety, improving focus, calming the mind & improving the quality of air flow indoors. Stay tuned this week on the blog for "all the plant things!" where I'll be sharing my effortless indoor plant styling tips and tricks.

 7. Lockdown 2.0

With lockdown continuing into the second week we have started to find our rhythm again. The children are enjoying schooling and hanging out at home - everyone seems much more adjusted and happy this time around (and dare I say this hiatus has been needed!?). I have been really busy working but taking moments during the day to enjoy the beautiful spring sunshine and just breathe, recalibrate and spend time with the children (favourite moment this week - a spring picnic in the sunshine designed by Annabelle and Edwin).

I made a mental shift this week to view this time in L4 as a gift - a time to slow down, catch up, pause and review. I hope you have been able to take some positives out of lockdown 2.0 too! See you soon - looking forward to catching up with our extended Feather & Oak family xx
