Hello Sunday! Here are some of my favourites this week. Aleasha is sharing her journey to building her country home on the blog and I'm sharing all my tips for creating a strong brief. Do you know how to prepare a great brief? Find out below!

 5. Where To Spend Vs Save

Renovating a house takes a lot of time and money. There can often be tension between splurging on statement pieces and saving money by cutting back where we can. Every major decisions seems to announce itself with equal priority and unless you’re awash in money and time, you cannot easily address them all at once. You need to sift through your priorities — starting with knowing where to splurge vs. save during a renovation can help reduce those tension moments. Have a look at my tips on the blog.

 6. A Good Brief

When it comes to creating the perfect design solution. It all starts with a clear brief!

You can never be too prepared. Research, research, research and providing a Pinterest board of your likes is a wonderful place to start. The more you pin you can start to see patterns of your likes emerge and that can help us determine what your style is and save a lot of wasted time presenting concepts that don't align with your renovation or build vision.  7. Curtain Checklist!

The biggest question to ask yourself before you pick your curtains or blinds is consider what is the main purpose of the window furnishing? Is it privacy, sunshade or the thermal aspect, is it to add softness or colour to your room?

This decision will directly impact the fabric and the nature of the window furnishings that are right for you. There are pros and cons for every window treatment.
