A Good Brief

Let's chat Briefing! The differences between a clear brief and a vague one can hugely impact the initial flow of a project and an incorrect brief could also slow your project down or worse - cost you money!

It's fine to not have all the answers, however it is also helpful to have a few starting points or constraints around your project when you come in for that initial consultation with any designer. The more information you give us about your project and your preferences, the less time wasted trying to get to the heart of your likes and dislikes. 

When we think of a colour for example, we all think of different shades. Blue means something unique to everyone, some may think of light powdery blue, some may think of royal blue and some navy. Therefore, saying you like one colour may not be helpful in determining what you really mean by blue. Having a few visual examples of blue rooms would be more helpful for determining your visual style.

Here are some things you might want to include with your first brief. We will however meet you at any point in the process even if you have no idea what you want until you see it!

CONSIDERATIONS FOR YOUR BRIEF

- What is your motivation for contacting us? For Example. Curtains/Help with your Interior/Building or renovating.

-When do you need to get started? Today or in 1 year?

-How big is the project? How many rooms are involved?

-Can you find some examples on Pinterest or from a Magazine to show us your dream style? If not that's ok too.

-Do you want a classic and timeless feel to your interior, or do you like to express your own personal style?

-How do you live? Do you have a large family to entertain or is your home your own personal sanctuary? 

-Do you have pets that may influence your interior choices?

-Do you work from home regularly or go to an office?

-Do you have a budget in mind? This one can feel tricky to dive right into, but being open about budget means that we can select accordingly and design to get the most out of your budget. We have interior choices at every price point and can work with you to keep that budget in check.
