The Weekly Edit

There's something delicious about a long weekend arriving just when you need it most. As King's Birthday Monday gifts us an extra day of rest, I've been thinking about how our homes become our sanctuaries during these slower weekends.

This Week's Edit celebrates the art of taking time - whether that's the careful precision of Lynda's expert hands creating perfect pleats, the thoughtful process of selecting just the right fabric for a client's vision, or simply allowing ourselves those extra moments to appreciate the spaces we've created.

Grab your favorite winter throw (and maybe that second cup of coffee you usually skip), and settle in for some midweek design inspiration that honors both craftsmanship and comfort.

P.S. If you're still in weekend mode on a Wednesday - we completely understand! Sometimes the best inspiration happens when we're not rushing.

1. Bespoke Curtains

There's something truly special about a perfectly crafted curtain - the way it frames a view, the gentle movement as it catches a breeze, the subtle texture that adds depth to a room. This week in our workroom, we've been focused on the fine details that separate bespoke from mass-produced.

From precise measurements that account for natural fabric movement to hand-finished hems that create the perfect drape - these aren't just window coverings, they're works of art that transform how you experience your space every day. With Lynda's expert hands guiding each stitch, our curtains carry that unmistakable signature of care that mass production simply cannot replicate. It's this dedication to craftsmanship that our clients feel every time they draw their curtains open to greet the morning light or close them to create their evening sanctuary.

2. Weekend Inspo

With King's Birthday long weekend ahead, we're thinking about how our spaces support both rest and productivity. Whether you're planning a cozy retreat at home or tackling that design project you've been dreaming about, your environment sets the stage.

For the relaxation seekers: Consider how your window treatments filter light - soft diffused light through sheer curtains creates the perfect ambiance for slow mornings with coffee and a book.

For the weekend warriors: Good task lighting and a decluttered space can transform that spare room into a productive project zone for finally selecting those paint colors or planning your renovation!

 3. Natural Layers

As we move into winter temperatures, we're noticing a beautiful shift in styling preferences. There's a natural gravitation toward layered textures, deeper color palettes, and spaces that invite lingering. This week's styling consultations have centered around creating that perfect balance between seasonal coziness and timeless elegance.

From introducing rich textural elements like bouclé and velvet to strategically placing lighting for those longer evenings - these thoughtful styling adjustments create spaces that respond to the season while maintaining your unique aesthetic. It's not about a complete redesign, but rather those perfect small touches that make a big impact.

4. Katy's Mini Edit

Loving for 2025

The art of the perfect comfort layer! With winter officially arriving today (how did that happen so quickly?!), I've been appreciating those thoughtfully placed throws that transform any space into a cozy retreat. There's something almost medicinal about wrapping yourself in a beautiful textile when you need a moment of rest - it's self-care in fabric form!

Design Tip

Long weekends are perfect for simple styling refreshes! Try the '15-minute method' - set a timer and focus on just one surface or corner. Sometimes the smallest changes make the biggest difference to how you experience your space.

Excited About...

A restful King's Birthday weekend ahead (our workroom will be closed Monday) before returning to some beautiful new projects next week!
