The Weekly Seven with Katy

Oct 09, 2021

Hello Sunday! We meet again.

I hope you all had a beautiful week. Check out all of the beautiful things I'm loving this week - from refreshing summer rolls, Mediterranean vibes and a sneak peek into the master bedroom at one of our latest design projects.

 1. Chennai

Hello, statement walls!!

This vibrant large scale wallpaper has stolen the keys to my heart - it turns classical tartan check into a contemporary masterpiece.

Digitally printed onto a non-woven ground with flocked check detail to enhance the graphic check pattern. Check out the colour options in store - there are some show-stoppers!

 2. Fabric Crush

I'm in the midst of revamping our soft furnishings at home, and on my wish list is this new fabric from Designers Guild - a highly detailed figurative verdant leaves and flowers in tonal shades are overlaid in an all over pattern - it's printed on luxurious cotton rich velvet and is perfect for sophisticated upholstery, curtains, blinds, and cushions - I can't wait to make some pretty cushions!!

 3. Spring Tablescapes

I was jumping with excitement when the new Maria Flor collection arrived in store. This is the ultimate in all things fancy floral dinner party - if you want to really impress your guests and be the talking point of any event be sure to invest some pieces from this exclusive collection from a family owned business in Portugal.

 4. Liv's Home Reveal

This week on the blog we got to take the grand tour of Liv's new home - her build is complete, she has moved in and created a sanctuary for herself and her partner, Josh that is truly beautiful! It has been a pleasure documenting their journey thus far - building your first home can be a big (and scary) venture with a lot of moving parts, and we have been incredibly lucky to have both herself and Josh share their journey and nuggets of wisdom along the way.

 5. Monkey Business

We paid another visit to one of our beautiful client's this week and had so much fun styling this new addition to Feather & Oak. This sitting monkey statue is the the perfect statement piece to style on any console, sideboard or shelving unit - I just love him and the beautiful banana palm leaf above his head to show off your fruits, blooms or family heirlooms (and how gorgeous is our fabulous leaf wallpaper with the gold lustre peeking from behind.)

 6. 28 Day Detox

A few weeks ago I was feeling a little under the weather after a busy few months and a change of season by body was asking for a reset! I'm excited to begin my journey following the Dr Libby detox protocols for the next 28 days. Living a busy lifestyle means it is really important for me to have a holistic and balanced approach to reduce any added stress - and I'm really excited to see how this journey unfolds. I'll keep you posted!

 7. Granny Chic

Spring is well and truly here and it's the perfect time to bring in some fresh styling elements into the home - I had so much fun this week unearthing the granny chic inspired look in our new Spring/Summer magazine.

Heavy & ornate floral prints, patterned wallpapers, retro furnishings, playful use of colour and other kitschy decor items you used to see around your grandma’s place are making a comeback. It's an interior style that celebrates making the old, new again.

Be sure to grab your copy and see how you can bring a little Granny-chic fun into your home this season.
